    GENERAL CROP APPLICATION

Acadian® is a powder extract suitable for soil, foliar application and fertigation. Working synergistically with your existing nutritional program, it can be tank mixed with most commonly used herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other agricultural inputs. For information on optimal application rates and timings for your crop, please refer to the label. If interaction of chemicals is unknown, a “jar” compatibility test is recommended.

*For crop specific usage rates and timing, please see the label

    APPLICATION METHOD: SOIL

Application Method: Soil applied treatments can be made by mixing with soil-applied fertility, directed sprays to the soil, sidedress treatments, applications through irrigation systems

Notes: Applications can be made at 2-4 week intervals throughout the growing season. Avoid heavy irrigations following application

    APPLICATION METHOD: FOLIAR

Application Method: Foliar spray should be applied as a fine mist, with low fluid velocity until the foliage is wet. See label crop specific application timings.

    Notes:

    • Do not apply in rain, high winds, or extreme temperature conditions
    • Apply during the cool part of the day or when temperatures are <30C
    • Do not spray just before or after rainfall or sprinkler irrigation
    • Use a surfactant for maximum dispersal and leaf adherence

    * Acadian is compatible with many pesticides and nutrients. Always read and follow label directions and conduct a jar test for a new blend.

    PERFORMANCE DATA

    ACADIAN ON CHERRIES

Applications of Acadian increased average cherry size and weight resulting in a higher percentage of cherries in the more desirable size categories.

    LOCATION: Tasmania, Australia

    YEAR: 2009

DESIGN: Randomized complete block with 5 replications

PLOT SIZE: Two trees per block

    VARIETY: Simone / F12-1

    TREATMENTS

    Control: Grower standard practices

Treatment: Grower standard practices plus four applications of Acadian applied at 2 kilograms per hectare at the following timings:

    • Pre-bloom
    • Bloom to petal fall
    • Shuckfall (10 mm)
    • Early straw-color (~20 mm)

Note: Please consult your local representative or distributor to confirm local application guidelines.

    RESULTS

Acadian® treatments resulted in a 19% increase in average cherry weight over the Control.

Significantly more of the Acadian®-treated fruit fell within the normal and large size categories when compared to Control fruit. Obtaining larger size cherries increases yield and often results in a premium being paid to the grower.
